In recognition of her many sacrifices, dedication and hardwork to breed and save Manipuri pony as well as the promotion of the game of Polo, the Pana Sagol Kangjei and for producing many international players, Huidrom Achoubi Devi was honored during the inauguration of 1st Chief Minister’s Sagol Kangjei Championship at Kangla.

Daughter of Late H Nila Singh and Late H Nungshirei Devi from Keirak Tomal Makhong, Kakching district, Huidrom Achoubi Devi, owned as many as 16 ponies and founded the District Pana Sagol Kangjei Association.

Driven by her love for the Manipuri Pony and undying passion for the game of Sagol Kangjei, Achoubi Devi gathered many players and founded the District Pana Sagol Kangjei Association in 1993. She organized many Polo tournaments and produced several international women polo players from the state.

I have been told that she even mortgated her properties to bear the expenses for the Ponies and help the players.
