Another proud moment for Manipur as Judoka Shushila Devi Likmabam gets honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award 2022.
Shushila Devi Likmabam, an Indian judoka, won silver in the Asian Open in Hong Kong in both 2018 and 2019. Her reputation precedes her, and she was also picked as one of five Indian judokas to represent India at the Budapest Grand Slam in 2020. She is the sole Indian athlete who has qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021. On the Olympic Games Quota (OGQ) Rankings, she was one of the two highest-ranked Asians outside the top 18. She won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. She came very close to winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games but settled for silver.
